Yes we may be quarantined but new and affordable makeup is still being launched! And that means I can browse online from the comfort and safety of my own couch to see new drugstore makeup April 2020 releases. I may not be putting on makeup very much these days but I still love to see what’s new and exciting.

I expect brands are pushing back launches and product releases due to COVID-19 and the impact it’s having on both retailers and consumers. Obviously, if I’m not putting on makeup, then I’m not using it up either or having to buy new or replacement products. This is actually a great time to amp up your skincare routine since you are home more often and may have more time to devote to trying products and being consistent.
I may do some more skincare related posts in the coming weeks as I continue building my affordable skincare routine.
But more about that later…going back to new drugstore makeup April 2020 products…how stinking cute are those I Heart Revolution Easter Egg palettes?! They are suuuper affordable at only $7 each and would be great little Easter basket gifts.
BH Cosmetics also released a lot of new products over the last few weeks. They have amazing eye products IMO so their eyelights and loose pigments look very intriging especially at $5 a pop. I’m also getting more and more into blush palettes because they offer so much versatility and customization depending on the look you are creating. I’ve never tried BH blushes but their 4 pan palettes look beautiful.
I’m a big fan of palettes when I can see myself using most if not all the shades. These palettes would definintely fall into that category. All of the shades look very wearable but not duplicative. That’s also a great bang for your buck coming out to just $4 a blush.

A 3-in-1 brow pomade, brush and spoolie to fill in, shape and set your brows all in one. Comes in 8 shades and formula claims to be waterproof.
// NYX Filler Instinct Plumping Lip Color – $8.00 each
Get a fuller lip look that you can wipe off at the end of the day. The formula has a glossy finish and claims to provide 8 hours of hydration with a semi-sheer shade application. Comes in 6 shades. Would be nice to know if the formula is tingley similar to other plumping products or no? The product description makes no mention of that.
// BH Cosmetics Eyelights Waterproof Eye Color – $5.00 each
A dupe for the Stila Glitter & Glow liquid eyeshadows – Milani and other brands have recently come out with their own versions. These are only $5.00 each which is one of the most affordable alternatives at the drugstore and the colors look more bold and dramatic as opposed to the Milani ones that are more neutral and muted.
// BH Cosmetics Loose Foil Pigment – $5.00 each
If you prefer a loose pigment to achieve an ultra glittery eye, these are for you! These will give you a similar look as the BH eyelights mentioned above but the application will be different. The loose pigment might be a little easier to manipulate and create custom looks with. The eyelights will have a liquid based formula which could apply more product for a bolder look and will dry down once applied. The loose pigments come in more neutral everyday shades.
// L’Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara – $9.99
Ok this looked new to me but the formula contains hydra collagen claiming to create up to 12x the volume as a traditional mascara with an extra large brush for maximum volume impact. Looks like the only shade availabe so far is blackest black.

The Filler Instinct by NYX Is pretty hydrating. A little more color than sheer and does last. It does tingle for a minute but I don’t really notice any plumping effect. I have Beach Casual shade and it’s very pretty.
Hi Emmy, thanks for the feedback on the NYX lipstick. Glad to hear it’s not too tingly but sounds like there isn’t very much plumping effect if that’s what you are looking for.
