I am naming October “the calm before the storm”. I was a little surprised that there weren’t more new makeup releases for the month but then I realized that the holidays are right around the corner. And every brand is about to drop its biggest launches of the year. So now it all makes sense.
Although, Coloupop is coming in hot and heavy with a Hocus Pocus collection 😱 🔮 🎃 and it’s everything we all needed during this pandemic. I’m all about the feel-good vibes.
If you missed the last few months of new makeup releases and want to catch up on what’s new and noteworthy, check out the last few months below:
New Drugstore Makeup September 2020
New Drugstore Makeup August 2020
New Drugstore Makeup July 2020 (including limited edition Harry Potter x Ulta Beauty collection)
I will jump into the new drugstore makeup October 2020 product releases and share my thoughts about each product there.
NEW DRUGSTORE MAKEUP OCTOBER 2020
// Colourpop Hocus Pocus Collection
The collection looks so well done! It includes a gorgeous eyeshadow palette, lip kits for each sister, eye glitter, eye liner and lashes. And Colourpop is offering several different bundles to choose from including the full collection, a collection for each sister and then all the products separately. You can buy the collection on Colourpop’s site and it should be available on Ulta’s site starting Oct 4 and in some Ulta stores.
// Ulta Beauty Blush Trios – $15.00
Blush formulas include matte and satin finishes, highly pigmented, and minimal fallout with oil-absorbing properties
// Ulta Beauty Nourishing Primer Oil – $18.00
Formulated to absorb quickly with a non-greasy texture, infused with collagen, essential oils and botanical extracts to make skin firmer, smoother and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines. This looks like a dupe for the Smashbox Primer Oil which is $42 for the same amount.
// The Ordinary Serum Foundation – $6.70
Comes in 21 shades with semi-matte coverage. “Pigments are suspended in a spreadability system that allows pigments to look natural on the skin, resist collecting within fine lines, and stay on for longer.” I’ve never quite read a foundation description like that haha. I’m particularly intrigued by this spreadability system.
I feel like I knew The Ordinary had makeup products. Is this a new foundation or just new to Ulta maybe??
// The Ordinary Coverage Foundation – $6.90
Also comes in 21 shades and here again with this spreadability system lol. Claims that pigments resist caking and settling into fine lines which can be an issue with a heavy makeup look.
// L’Oreal Air Volume Mega Mascara – $13.99
Supposedly inflates and puffs up lashes like a hot hair balloon with a lighter-than-air formula. The mascara has a whipped formula and a double bristle brush that will increase volume.
// Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick “Thrill Seeker” – $7.99
An amazing liquid lip formula now in matte black for all your spooky needs this month 👻
// Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Vitamin C – $8.99
Brightening micellar cleansing water is a new addition to the Garnier Micellar water family. This formulation is specifically designed to boost glow all while removing your makeup effectively and gently.
And that wraps up my new drugstore makeup October 2020 recap. What are you excited for?! I’m really interested in The Ordinary foundations. If you’ve tried them and have thoughts, leave me a comment letting me know what you think!
And I’m also eyeing those blush trios that look so beautiful! You know I’m a sucker for a blush palette and a huge fan. They are so convenient and practical.
