It’s officially December and new makeup is pouring into stores everywhere. I get so giddy seeing all the fun holiday sets and bundles that brands come out with. But I’ll have to wait for Santa to bring me those because I’m trying to find the restraint to not buy anything for myself. Wish me luck! Instead I’m focusing my efforts on fun ways to create holiday looks using products I already have. When I think about how to create the perfect holiday makeup look from the drugstore, six essential products come to mind! Incorporating these 6 elements will give you a showstopper look!
If you don’t know by now, I’m ride or die for affordable products! I love creating beautiful makeup looks that rival anything high-end. These products I’ve picked in each category are some of my absolute favorites! When I was thinking about my perfect holiday look, I picked 6 key elements that I felt like were essentials for the look. They are:
- Dewy Skin
- Glittery Eyes
- Bold Lashes
- Highlighter
- Red Lips
- Setting Spray
DEWY SKIN
Glowing and radiant skin is a must in the wintertime. Especially as your skin starts to get drier and weathered, it’s important to keep it hydrated and dewy. This time of the year is the perfect time to try some foundations that offer a little more glow to brighten up your complexion. Even if you have oily skin, you can still achieve a dewy look and now is the time to experiment! These 2 foundations are some of my absolute favorites for achieving radiant skin all day long but never looking oily or greasy.

Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation
GLITTERY EYES
What are the holidays without a little glitter?! Time to sparkle up your eye makeup instead of doing the same old brown/neutral eye look. Both of these products are liquid eyeshadows that dry down and stay put ALL day! I love the Revlon sticks because the 2-step process lets you add extra glitter and sparkle depending on how much or little you want. You can also use these as liner! The Maybelline ones are simply gorgeous and add just the right amount of sparkle to your look to take it up a notch.

LASHES
Bold lashes are a must. I don’t usually wear false lashes on the regular but the holidays are an excuse to be a little extra 🙂 I feel like I can get away with falsies for special occasions like this. Not that you can’t wear them on the regular…I just don’t have the time or expertise to do it! These 2 Ardell styles are bold and extra without looking like too much. They both blend nicely with natural lashes but give them a little extra fluff and flirt.

HIGHLIGHT
On top of dewy skin, highlighter is key! Going along with the radiant and sparkly theme, adding some powder highlighter can bring back some glow to your skin if you’ve had to set your foundation with layers of powdered products. Sometimes my dewy skin can get lost if I use too many powder products on top. But adding powder highlighter is the exception and will accentuate all the right places you want the extra glow. You seriously cannot go wrong with either of these highlights – both are equally amazing!

RED LIP
You can’t do a Christmas party without a red lip! It’s like decorating your tree without lights…just doesn’t seem right! Go for the bold red and wear it with confidence! Another tip is to add a matching lip liner underneath to allow your color to last longer. These liquid lipstick formulas are comfortable, long-lasting and pigmented so if you pair them with a lip liner, they will last you hours!

SETTING SPRAY
Last but not least, you need to lock your perfected look in place to last all day. These setting sprays will melt everything together to give you a perfect finish and will extend the wear of your look. You can even spray them as priming sprays before you start your makeup for some extra hydration.

And there you have it. You can’t go wrong with these products or elements incorporated into your holiday look. Have fun and experiment with things you might not typically wear on an everyday basis because the holidays are a good excuse to try something new and different 🙂
