It’s about to be Christmas in July! For all you Amazon lovers, Christmas is twice a year, once in December and once in July for their annual Amazon Prime Day! If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically like Amazon’s version of Black Friday but for prime members! If you aren’t a prime member, stop what you are doing right now and at the very least, Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial! I’ve done this probably half a dozen times and you get free 2 day shipping and access to Amazon video for 30 days! If you don’t want to pay for the subscription at the end of 30 days, just cancel it!
PRIME DAY 2017 is Tuesday, July 11th with deals starting at 10EST the night before!!
Once you have Amazon Prime, anything you buy will automatically have free 2 day shipping! Now onto some of my top picks for Amazon Prime Day and what I think are the best beauty buys to snag.
The items I’m recommending all focus on storage, organization, and tools that will supplement your makeup and beauty obsession! These can be items I easily forget or overlook when I’m scouring for the latest products and brands. However, they usually end up being staples to my collection that I couldn’t live without once I just take the plunge and buy!
I’m not sure if any of these items will include an extra discount when purchasing on prime day but as long as you have prime, you are guaranteed to have free shipping with the item at your front door in 2 days! Music to my ears 🙂 However, most of these products are extremely affordable anyways with only one over $50.
This is the makeup mirror I currently use! I’m so glad I splurged on this mirror because I’m in love. I got this about a year ago or so and use it on the daily. I was really particular with the type of mirror I wanted and this mirror checked everything off my list. It’s double-sided with one side at normal magnification and the flip side at 10x magnification. The mirrors are very high quality with great resolution (no distortion).
The ring light is on both sides and has 3 color settings – cool, warm, and neutral lighting depending on what you prefer! I use neutral almost 100% of the time. It also has a 15 minute auto shut-off which I love! At first, I thought this was annoying because it would shut off mid routine but now I really like it because I’m the type to forget to shut it off when I walk out the door. All you do is just tap the power button to turn it back on and it goes right to the light setting you last had on.
It also uses batteries or plugs in depending on if you want to travel with it or use it in a place with no close outlet since the cord isn’t terribly long. I could keep going but will stop there. If you’ve been using a crappy mirror for too long, treat yourself to this upgrade! You will thank me later 🙂
This is another favorite I had to share! It’s not the Taj Mahal of storage that you see on Youtube or online but it works for my desk area where I do my makeup everyday. It’s the perfect size to sit on top and it surprisingly holds TONS of products! I was afraid it wouldn’t hold very much or products wouldn’t fit but I was pleasantly surprised. Probably 95% of the product sizes I have fit in this organizer. The drawers also come lined with some grippy material that’s nice to have (you can remove it if you want though).
If you click the link to the product, you can buy the whole thing as pictured or just the top portion or bottom portion separately if you prefer. Great product and price!
This is one of the top rated brush kits on Amazon! It comes with 10 different brushes and I think you can pick from a few different color options if you don’t like the black/gold combo. Each brush comes out to about 85 cents a piece. They are super soft and offer so much variety to amp up your brush collection if you are lacking some staples. Brushes included (from left to right in picture order):
- angled brush (great for blush/bronzer/contour)
- flat angled brush (great for foundation and small nooks and spaces)
- flat kabuki (great for foundation)
- round brush (great for powders)
- tapered brush (great for precision around eyes and nose with liquid or powder products)
- small angled precision eye brush
- small flat angled precision eye brush
- small flat precision eye brush
- small round blending eye brush
- small tapered eye brush
How adorable is this thing?! I stumbled upon this not too long ago and think it’s the cutest little invention! Multiple times, I’ve had the thought that it would be nice to store my makeup sponge somewhere sanitary where it can dry and not pick up any bacteria or other products. This little holder is just perfect 🙂 It comes in a couple different finishes but I love the rose gold!
When your makeup sponge is dry and smaller, you can place it round side down and when it’s wet and expanded, you flip it over and place it pointed side down! Or you can just fit it however you flippin’ feel like depending on your sponge shape. Heck get 2 or 3 if you have multiple sponges and line those bad boys up to be put to good use!
Z Palette – Lavender $18.00
I’ve recently been getting into single eyeshadows and there is no better way to organize them than a z palette! It’s magnetic so all your shadows will hold in place and will be protected for storage, travel and everyday wear and tear. I thought this lavender one was more special than a boring black one. Amazon carries lots of different colors and patterns so find the perfect one to fit your style!
True confession – I need to clean my brushes more often! This mat makes the process so much faster and easier. Plus I don’t dread it as much as I used to so it motivates me to do it more frequently! This comes in a couple fun colors as well and has lots of patterns and textures to help get your brushes super clean. It’s always a smart idea to keep things sanitary and free from bacteria even if you’re the only one that ever uses your brushes.
Last but certainly not least are these oval makeup brushes! If you don’t already know, these have been so trendy over the last year or so. I can’t even remember the name of the brand that first came out with these…something that starts with an A I think…but they were SO pricey! Since then, I’ve seen tons of knock-offs that probably work just as good. This 5 piece set is a great alternative if you are wanting to try them out. They are ultra soft and look totally luxurious. Each brush comes out to roughly $1.99 each
The hype around these oval brushes is that they claim to give your face an airbrush-like finish and flawless application. If you don’t know how to use them, find a good Youtube video to watch and practice! Brushes included (from left to right in picture order):
- foundation and powder brush
- blush and blending brush
- contouring brush
- brow and eyeliner brush
- eyeshadow and lip brush
With any brush set that you buy, even though brushes come with recommended uses, use them for whatever works for you! If your “blush” brush actually works as a great bronzing or contouring brush, that’s great! Don’t feel like you have to use it for only what it says. Sometimes just experimenting with different brushes helps me find new ways of doing my makeup or better ways of applying products. I’m all about multi-tasking 🙂
Happy shopping and Amazon Prime Day! May the odds that all these products are in stock be ever in your favor 🙂
