Lately, I’ve been obsessed with face masks! I’m in a pampering phase right now (if you couldn’t tell by my posts lately….aka my affordable spa day at home post :). I am finally realizing that I’ve been missing out on pampering myself for years. The every-now-and-then mani/pedi isn’t cutting it anymore. I’ve gone full on spa day and I’m not mad about it! Usually face masks on the regular has become part of my routine so I thought I would round up some favorites and ended up with what I think are the 8 best face masks under $15!
Now most of these face masks aren’t necessarily problem-specific. They are more just general masks that most people regardless of skin type and complexion can use and hopefully enjoy. If you suffer from ultra dry skin or redness or whatever the case may be, I’m sure there are great specific masks out there that target those concerns. These 8 masks will have more mass-appeal.
I’ve only recently gotten into experimenting with different face masks over the last couple years. When I was younger, I honestly didn’t give them a second thought because I didn’t suffer with many skin issues and my youthful skin didn’t show any signs of age or damage. Now that I’m in my late 20s, I’ve decided to take better care of my skin while it still looks great to prolong it’s health for decades to come….fingers crossed!
Face masks are great to incorporate into your overall skincare routine because they have all kinds of added benefits. Just daily washing or moisturizing is great but sometimes your skin needs a boost. Maybe your skin needs hydration and vitamins, detoxed and deeply cleaned of build up over time or exfoliated and nurtured to reveal healthy skin cells and regeneration.
I compare using a face mask to deep-cleaning your home (stay with me here!) You don’t always deep-clean every room in your home…at least I don’t. I tend to just spot clean, pick-up, and clean what absolutely needs to be cleaned but rarely do I tackle all the nooks and crannies. Overtime, those areas get really dirty and need a deep-cleaning. Same goes for your skin but even more often. Dirt on your baseboards is easier to ignore than dirt on your skin. All masks will work differently and have different recommendations for how regularly to use but many masks are ok to use multiple times a week.
Your face skin is so delicate and sensitive so it’s important to keep it clean, nourished and well-kept to promote longevity and youthfulness! I’m only going to be talking about jar masks in this post but there are all kinds of different types: sheet masks, peel masks, overnight masks, etc. I’m by no means an expert on skin or a dermatologist or anything so I’m sure you can Google benefits of using face masks for yourself and read many more technically-accurate articles than I just laid out. Ok enough ramble – let’s jump into these 8 best face masks under $15!
e.l.f Hydrating Gel Mask – $12.00
E.l.f recently came out with a skincare extension to their brand and I’m so happy about it! Their makeup products are amazing quality at unbelievable prices so you know their skincare will follow suit. I love a good hydrating mask! Some of the ingredients in this one are aloe and coconut which are both great for your skin! This would be great for winter months when your skin gets drier.
e.l.f Bubble Cleansing Mask – $11.83
Just the name along sounds fun! This mask is exactly what the name indicates. It’s a bubbly fizzy mask that foams to gently cleanse your skin and leave it feeling healthy and rejuvenated! Using a cleansing mask on a regular basis is great at tackling left-over makeup and grime that can still linger on your face after your regular daily cleansing. It will help keep your pores clean and clear for smooth skin!
L’Oreal Pure Clay Mask – $9.25
This mask is one of several that L’Oreal came out with several months back and this happens to be my favorite! This is definitely a thick clay mask and uses charcoal to really detox your skin. I don’t normally wear makeup on a daily basis but if there are weeks when I’m wearing full makeup everyday or several days in a row, I feel like this is a great mask to use afterwards right before I give my skin a break. It detoxes and cleans everything away.
Shea Moisture Clarifying Mud Mask – $15.99
This is a great mask if you struggle to keep clear skin. For me, I love to use this around that time of the month when I’m more prone to getting breakouts. It has tea tree oil which is great for fighting blemishes. The texture also exfoliates to rid your face of dead skin which can cause breakouts if not cleaned. Technically. this is $0.99 over the $15 mark but just thought I would round down to make it fit 🙂
Nugg Face Mask 4 Pack – $14.24
I love this 4 pack because each mask offers a different benefit depending on the condition of your skin and what it needs. The set include a soothing, hydrating, deep-cleaning and revitalizing mask. This makes each mask roughly $3.50 and I can sometimes get 2 uses out of one pod. Nugg has other masks and 4 packs with different types of masks besides this one so pick a pack that works best for your skin!
The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask – $12.83
This is another mask that’s great for acne-prone skin! Even if you don’t seriously struggle with blemishes but have occasional breakouts every so often, this is a great mask to use! I feel like I don’t think to use a blemish-prone mask until I’ve already had a breakout but incorporating this mask into your routine while your skin is clear will help prevent future breakouts! Again, tea tree oil is great for clear skin and will battle against access oils.
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay – $9.59
I first heard of this mask on Youtube and was so intrigued! If I would have seen it on Amazon before hearing about it on Youtube, I would probably never give it a second glance because the packaging just seems like something I would look past in a beauty product. But after hearing people rave about it, I had to try it! The price is unbeatable and you get SO much product! This is a stripped down mask with no fragrance, color or anything but the formula is amazing! It leaves my skin feeling super clean and smooth. I highly recommend and just search it on Youtube if you want to see it in action.
Lush Cup O’Coffee Face & Body Mask – $10.95
What better way to start the day than coffee for your face?! This is a mask that’s great to use in the morning if you have some extra time. It smells so good and wakes you up if you like the smell of coffee beans. I really do feel like it brings life into my skin in the morning and helps it look more plump and awake. The coffee grounds that are mixed in the mask help to exfoliate and leave my skin feeling smooth and clean!
Now it’s time to pick a new mask you haven’t tried and see what you think! There’s nothing wrong with a little pampering at home for some well-deserved “me” time. Run a hot bath and pour a glass of wine and you are all set!
