Next up in my Top Ten series is blush! I am a big blush fan and always have been. I think it adds such a natural and healthy flush to my face. I know not everyone is into blush, but it’s essential in my everyday makeup routine. There are so many great affordable blushes on the market now that it was hard to narrow down to a top ten. Blush is a category where I think you shouldn’t have to pay big bucks to get a quality product. I don’t see any need for a high-end blush when I have dozens of options here all under $13! Let’s jump into my top ten affordable blush recommendations.
Sidenote – my first post in this series talked about my top ten affordable concealer picks so check that out if you are interested!
These are in no particular order and are all equally fantastic. What I love about blush that’s different than other face products is that you don’t have to stick to one shade. With foundation or concealer, you really only choose one shade out of the line to use. But with blush, a brand could carry 4, 5 or even 10 shades in a certain formula and you could wear all of them! Yes some might be a better fit or color for your skin tone. But I have light skin and, with a light hand, can still use blush colors made for darker skin tones. I love that you can build up or soften the color with most blush formulas or even mix colors together to get a custom shade.
My Top Ten Picks
// Flower Beauty Flower Pots Powder Blush
Price: $9.99
Shades: 4
Absolutely love these blushes and the shade range is gorgeous. Personally, I think this is one of the best products from the brand. I feel like a lot of people know about them, but they somehow still feel like a hidden gem. If you’ve never tried a Flower Pot blush, run to your nearest Ulta and pick one up asap! You will not be disappointed.
// Morphe Blushing Babes Blush Trio
Price: $12.00
Shades: 7
These trios pack a huge bang for your buck! The shade range is very unique and caters to so many different skin tones. You basically get 3 products in one making each $4 a piece. Morphe blushes have a great formula and apply beautifully. Plus not only can you use each shade individually but you can mix colors to get even more longevity out of this product. These remind me of the Anastasia blush trios but better and more affordable obvi 🙂
Price: $9.99
Shades: 3
Not too long ago, Burt’s Bees expanded into the makeup category, and their launch included these blushes. Many of the products from the launch ended up being duds but these were a standout! The shades are very subtle and natural – no hot pinks or mauves – and very true to the brand. If you are looking for a less colorful blush and something more skin tone-like, then check these out because they might be right up your alley.
// L.A Girl Just Blushing Powder
Price: $5.99
Shades: 10
I have raved about these blushes before (i.e. full face of makeup everything under $6 or back-to-school makeup kit essentials) and here they are again. I remember when these first launched and I think there were only about 4 shades and now the line carries 10! This is one of my absolute favorite affordable blushes. I probably wear the shade “Just Playful” about every day. It lasts all day and is the perfect color to go with almost any look. Snag these up and see for yourself!
Price: $2.99
Shades: 2
Now the shade range might not be great, but the price tag is! If you are looking for an everyday color with a satin finish, look no further! Both colors are beautiful and apply so effortlessly. The only thing I wish is that they would come out with more shades. I would love to see a coral or peach color.
Price: $12.00
Shades: 8
One of the staples from the Ulta line are these mineral blushes. They have a great formula and shade range. These are on the pricier end of this top ten list and you can definitely find more affordable options within other brands. But blush colors can be so unique. One mauve from one brand might look way different than another mauve from a different brand.
Price: $7.99
Shades: 4
The OG of the bunch are these bad boys. Raise your hand if you have ever owned Luminoso?! Those were the days. I recently repurchased it maybe about a year ago and wondered if they changed it slightly? It was still good but just not like I remember. Anyways, these are still incredible and worth your pretty pennies. They all have a soft sheen that is so gorgeous. I love wearing these in the summer to give my skin some extra glow.
Price: $8.99
Shades: 4
If you aren’t into baked or glowy blushes and would prefer a matte powder formula, these rose blushes, also from Milani, are also equally amazing. The embossed rose print reminds me of the Flower Pot blushes from Flower Beauty. The shade range could be a little more differentiated but they cover the basics.
//Physicians Formula Butter Blush
Price: $12.99
Shades: 4
Part of their butter collection family, these definitely have a buttery formula that are kind of a hybrid between a powder and cream. They apply like a powder but almost feel a little creamy when you swatch them. Anything from the Physicians Formula butter line is a must-have. I have used Physicians Formula blushes outside of this collection way back in the day and they weren’t great. But, I’m happy to say that this formula is much improved.
// NYX HD Blush
Price: $6.99
Shades: 12
Last but certainly not least is the line that carries the most shades – and some of the more unique colors. You can find both subtle and bold color options. Their shade range would suit so many different skin tones. Even though some of the colors look bold in the pan, they can easily sheer out to be a soft wash of color and are surprisingly easy to wear.
