How are we already in May of 2020? I have loved doing these “what’s new at the drugstore” posts because it helps me stay on top of new releases and what brands are doing. I hope you have enjoyed them too. If you missed the last few months, you can check out those posts below:
New Drugstore Makeup April 2020
New Drugstore Makeup March 2020
New Drugstore Makeup February 2020
This was a slow month for new releases which I’m assuming has a lot to do with the pandemic. Plus I can’t tell you the last time I put on makeup. I am so looking forward to having somewhere to go and getting to sit down at my vanity to get ready!
But it looks like there are still some interesting new products to talk about – a few from Covergirl’s controversial Clean Fresh line which I’ve heard not so great things about. Anybody else have thoughts on this line so far? The idea of it sounds right up my alley but I’ve heard and read the products just aren’t that great and even have formula issues. Maybe they will work out the kinks in time. I just wish they would bring back the healthy revitalist foundation…..so rude 🙄
I will jump into these new drugstore makeup May 2020 releases and give some details and claims for each as usual.
NEW DRUGSTORE MAKEUP MAY 2020
// Covergirl Clean Fresh Hydrating Concealer – $11.99
Formula is infused with coconut milk and aloe which are great skin boosting ingredients. Formula also claims to have buildable coverage. Not many other details to note like finish, staying power, or specifics on what to use it for. It will be interesting once product reviews start coming in which may help you decide if you want to purchase. Comes in 14 shades.
// Covergirl Clean Fresh Prep & Set Water Mist – $9.99
Comes in 3 scents: rose, cucumber and citrus and claims to hydrate, prep and refresh. Again, not many other details on the formula or benefits to using the product so product reviews will be a helpful resource.
//I Heart Revolution Tasty Peach 3D Highlighter – $8.00
Duo-tone pan which includes both a golden and peachy shade with a peachy-scent of course. Too Faced Peach collection vibes anyone?!
// I Heart RevolutionPineapple Brightening Fixing Spray – $8.00
Not many details about this product other than it will provide a healthy, glowy finish and has a pineapple scent.
// I Heart Revolution Tasty Peach Liquid Lipstick – $7.00
Comes in 4 shades – formula claims to glide on like a gloss but dries to a demi-matte finish with a peachy scent.
// Essie Summer 2020 Nail Polish Collection – $9.00/each
// Ulta Beauty Lip & Cheek Color Stick – $10.00
Comes in 6 shades – dual-purpose product made for lips and cheeks with a pigmented formula that will be easy to apply. The shade range looks pretty dark-toned but don’t let that scare you. The line was intended to include all skin tones 🙌🏻 and products like this can be applied more sheer or built up for bolder color payoff.
// Ulta Beauty Setting Sprays
Wannabe Fresh Setting Spray – $6.00
Claims to extend the wear time of your makeup with a dewy, luminous finish
Wannabe Active SPF 50 Setting Spray – $12.00
Claims to extend the wear time of your makeup with a matte finish and formulated to be water resistant up to 80 minutes with SPF 50.
Wannabe Free Setting Spray – $12.00
Claims to extend the wear time of your makeup with a matte finish while controlling shine
Wannabe Fresh Dewy Makeup Setting Spray – $12.00
Claims to extend the wear time of your makeup with a dewy luminous finish. Formulated to be anti-aging and includes hyaluronic acid.
What do you think of these new drugstore makeup May 2020 releases? I Heart Revoution is definintely knocking off the peach/fruity collections that Too Faced has come out with. I’m not a huge sucker for scented makeup. I’m more eager to try something new when a product boasts a unique formula, specific solution or is in a shade that I like.
I also don’t usually include nail polish releases. But with this quarantine and knowing many people might not be putting on makeup, I thought there may be an increased interest for nail polish since lots of ladies are doing DIY manicures at home right now. It just so happened that Essie released their summer shades 🤗
